URINETOWN : THE MUSICAL
Urinetown: The Musical by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis is performed by our first and second year musical theatre students.
This production is being performed at 'The Pleasance Theatre, 5 Carpenter Mews, North Road, Islington. N7 9EF'
Welcome to Urinetown —not the place, but the show! This brilliantly dark comedy takes us to a future where water is scarce and using the toilet comes at a price. Controlled by a greedy megacorporation, public toilets are the only option, and breaking the rules can have… dire consequences. But when one citizen dares to rise up, he sparks a revolution that questions power, privilege, and whether freedom really is free. Clever, sharp, and full of show-stopping numbers, Urinetown is both a love letter to and a send-up of classic musical theatre—with a twist you’ll never see coming.
A Quick Heads-Up: Urinetown is a satirical musical that pokes fun at politics, big business, and even musical theatre itself. It includes toilet humour (literally), a bit of cartoon-style violence, and some grown-up themes. Perhaps best enjoyed by ages 12 and up, but parents might like to use their discretion
Tickets will be e-mailed to you within 72 hours before the event begins.
