My children love Bodens - it is the highlight of their week! They've grown so much in confidence throughout the time they've attended classes and they are continuously looking to add more classes into their week. We received detailed feedback on their progress and communication is excellent if I've ever had questions. I cannot recommend it highly enough - Parent, Feefo Review

classes and courses

All our classes and courses target a range of interests, ages and skill levels, we offer a comprehensive range of classes that cover many aspects of performing arts. In our acting classes, students develop their acting skills and confidence through stage and screen acting, text work, voice, movement and more.  Our singing classes focus on technique, performance, acting through song and musicality across a range of styles. Our dance classes involve ballet, tap, modern, jazz, hip-hop, commercial and contemporary, both in RAD and ISTD exam classes, and in our non-exam lessons.

performing arts

Our performing arts classes, based at our Barnet or Enfield centres, give children and young people an opportunity to work on all three areas; singing, acting & dancing. In addition to improving their skills and working towards regular performances, these classes also teach transferrable skills: focus, teamwork, creativity, communication and determination. As our students improve in ability and confidence, they learn to perform successfully on and off the stage.

My daughter has been going there since she was 7 years old and now she is at the college studying Musical Theatre!! She is very happy . I am happy too !! Her saying the first month of full time at Bodens, “mum , I am living my best life“  That’s all I need to hear!! Great place, great teachers and Adam And Katie go above all expectations! Thank you. Happy kid, Happy Mum - Parent, Feefo Review

acting

Our midweek acting classes take place at our Barnet centre and are ideal for children and young people that want to focus on this one area of the performing arts. Working towards screen and stage performances, our classes cover naturalism, text and scene study, acting for camera, characterisation, improvisation, movement, ensemble work and devising. Students also benefit from transferable skills: communication and confidence, teamwork and leadership, listening and responding, critical thinking and problem solving, research and creativity.

Acting Classes

dance

Dance classes can be a fun and rewarding experience for children and young people of all ages. At our Barnet centre we offer ballet, tap, modern and street dance training. Our dance classes, for fitness, fun or developing techniques and skills, provide many other benefits: boosting physical and mental well-being, improving posture and muscle strength, enhancing contact memory, planning and organisation.

Dancing Classes

Great classes. Always taught so well. Teachers are all so lovely and care about their students.

Felt very welcomed - Isabel, 18 Years

acting, singing & musical theatre exams

Young people already attending classes at Bodens Performing Arts can take advantage of our small group exam classes, based at our Barnet Centre. This is an opportunity to work more intensely on acting, singing or musical theatre. The Trinity exams are designed to enable performers to develop their skills, allowing a free-choice of performance pieces to focus on works that play to their strengths, interests and previous experience.

rehearsals and performances

Performance is a key part of the learning experience at Bodens. Students have numerous opportunities to participate in rehearsal processes and performances. We stage productions across our classes, including plays, musicals, and showcases. Additionally, 'watch weeks' for our younger students are held regularly to give students frequent opportunities to showcase their hard work and learning, and parents or carers opportunities to see their child's progression and learning.

My son has been attending Bodens for a few months and is completely hooked. He started with just the acting classes and has moved on to adding the combined Saturday acting/singing/dancing, attending twice a week. It is greatly helping his self-confidence and creativity, and has inspired him to win the position of Performing Arts rep for his school year group.- Parent, Google Review

collaborative projects

We encourage collaboration within all our classes at Bodens. We believe that working together offers massive benefits to the social development and learning of our students. Through collaborative projects, students gain skills in creating theatre and participating in project based learning.

industry insights

We provide numerous opportunities for students to gain insights into the performing arts industry to give aspiring performers an understanding of the way it works. Students have opportunities to work with industry professionals, and participate in workshops with performers. Recent workshops have been with West End performers from Hadestown, Heathers, Six and Hamilton.

Boden’s provide an excellent standard in their performing arts classes. My daughter has gained so much confidence in performing and looks forward to each lesson. The advancement in her interpersonal skills have been evident in her day to day actions and the most important factor from Bodens is her enjoyment in attending - Parent, Feefo Review

support

At Bodens, we prioritise supporting our students' growth and well-being. Joining Bodens means becoming part of an environment where staff look after and value every single student. Our are happy to offer any support they can to students. We understand how much performing can be used as a tool to help students grow, develop and be themselves in a challenging world, and work hard to make sure that's exactly what they can do at Bodens.
